Frozen Gin & Lemon Drink with Chef’s Special Hand-Crafted Olive

Beautifully crafted dishes served in a traditional Japanese style course menu. Yamada Chikara is new to Honolulu and replaced the old Japanese restaurant next to Ala Moana that had the large red snapper painted on its roof (iconic, right?). I loved that their exterior was minimal and the lack of signage made you feel like you were entering a secret hideaway no one else knew about.

Warm Udon Topped with Karasumi
Each course was prepared so thoughtfully and really highlighted the beauty of each ingredient. Items as simple as a bowl of miso soup blew my mind and there’s not a day that goes by that I think about that white miso from Kyoto. Many of the ingredients were imported from different regions in Japan and the whole experience was undoubtedly authentic. The atmosphere is elevated and is perfect for celebrating special occasions elegantly. Would definitely come again & recommend for everyone to experience at least once!
