All-Inclusive Yelp Elite Dining Experience

Crispy California Avocado w/ Calabrian Chili Mayo & Puffed Corn

For my first ever Yelp Elite event, I was invited to bring a friend and dine at The Mayor’s Table Pacific Pub + Kitchen in Newport Beach, California. We were given a range of dates and times to choose from, which made it convenient for both of us to attend! I was able to plan this dinner around my work schedule and arrived feeling very relaxed and ready to have a great time!

Smoked Salmon Tartare w/ Crispy Bagel Crisps, Smoked Table side in Chamomile Tea

This little gem is an extension of Lido House and is great for date night or grabbing some drinks with friends. The restaurant is easy to spot as you’re driving by and valet parking is available at Lido House. The presentation of their dishes was well thought out and they had some interesting options on their menu, making it a unique dining experience.

Charcoal Orecchiette Pasta in Heirloom Tomato Sauce & Herb Purée

When I first walked in I waited by the bar to be seated, and although waiters were smiling at me as they walked by, no one offered their help or directed me towards where I should go. Figuring they were busy, I stood there for another 5 minutes before finally deciding I’d walk around and see if I could spot another hostess. After walking past the bar into the next room I noticed a hostess looking down at her phone, and although she was quick to seat me, I definitely didn’t start my night feeling like a valued customer.

Grilled Lamb Lollichops w/ Roasted Carrots & Fresh Persimmon

The food on the other hand was great! The crispy avocado was superb and the lamb was tender and delicious! All of the dishes were individual portions but were easy to share. I also enjoyed the charcoal pasta and thought it was so unique and trendy! I’ve seen many black squid ink pastas but this was the first time I got to experience a pasta infused with charcoal! The highlight of the night was definitely their deconstructed cheesecake, every bit of it was absolutely stunning! It was much lighter than a traditional cheesecake yet left me feeling just as satisfied. I loved the presentation of their dishes and our server was very friendly and attentive.

Overall I had an amazing experience at my first Yelp Elite event and cannot wait to attend my next! I loved the open formatting for reservation times and how we were given a variety of their star dishes to try. I would definitely recommend working towards becoming a part of the Yelp Elite program and agree that these events make it worth your time!
