Great place to study or catch up with friends! I stumbled upon this cafe while exploring Mission Viejo and immediately fell in love with their relaxed, laid back atmosphere.

Avocado Toast

One of the most important things I always look for when searching for a place to study is seating, and this place did not disappoint! The seating consisted of a combination of long, communal tables lined with benches for groups of locals catching up over breakfast and smaller, square tables for individuals looking for some personal space. All of the menu items are simple but well made and there’s definitely something for everyone! You know you’ve found a winner when it takes forever for you to decide what you want to order.

Earl Grey Tea Latte

Although it wasn’t on the menu the server agreed to make me an earl grey tea latte (what great service!) and I sipped on it happily while studying on a Monday morning. Most diners were eating avocado toast in the morning and flatbreads became popular as the morning transitioned into the afternoon. I was debating between the avocado toast and a few lox options but ended up ordering Suzy’s Icelandic Breakfast on my first visit, which was a sandwich consisting of house smoked salmon, egg salad, red onions, capers and lettuce. The salmon was heavy on the dill which I didn’t mind and was very fresh and delicious! Many of their ingredients such as their salmon and flavored drink syrups are made in-house and taste different than what you would find anywhere else, which gives you all the more reason to stop in for a special treat.

The following week when I was debating on where to study, I couldn’t shake the idea of Lola’s out of my mind! Even though its quite a drive away from home, getting to try their avocado toast the second time around was so worth it. When I returned this time, I found that they had updated their menu and the earl grey tea latte was now a part of their menu- how cool! Would definitely come back to study or relax and read a book on my next day off- thank you Lola’s for the great service and yummy food! I’ll definitely be back!
